I Can Only Imagine

I must admit it -- I am one of the most musically challenged persons on the face of the earth. I am beyond out of touch with popular music. I am a dork and basically only listen to public TALK radio. (MN Public Radio & NPR Rock!)

Now, that isn't to say that I don't love music. I do. I often feel as if my lack of music in my daily life causes me to miss out on something. Almost as if there is an empty space in my life because of the musical-less-ness. Music can speak to people on so many levels. I love listening to lyrics. I think I am going to turn the next few Tuesdays into posts that feature songs that include my favorite lyrics...

First up is "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me. Seriously! When you imagine standing in front of your Heavenly Father for the first time -- what do you think we will do?!?! Mediate on the chorus. It sends chills up my spine.

"I Can Only Imagine"

I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By your side

I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When your face
Is before me
I can only imagine

I can only imagine

[Chorus:]
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you, Jesus, or in awe of you, be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine

I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine

I can only imagine

[Chorus]

I can only imagine

I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you

I can only imagine
